With winter not yet in full gear anf bird feeders in full stock, the backyard is filled withthe usual birdies visiting for free snack. And boy they are always ravenous. I'm still missing a shot of the Blue Tit.

Strolling around Rogaland Arboret in June
I did a quick pop by with the family to check out common visitors to the Arboret. A good excuse to drag the family along to enjoy the summer's warm sun and spy on the regular birds at the gardens.
Saw the usual : Pied Flycatcher, Chaffinch, Robin and the lone Common Teal by the lake. The teal seems to be residing in the area by the looks of it, I see it almost every year since I first spotted it there.

Youngins in the Backyard
Spring time is an active time for young birds ... intent on eating as much as the can whenever they can. With a feeder in the yard, the house is never without the sound of chirps and whirring wings.

Granebukta to see Common Widgeons
2016 came and went, and as far as birdwatching goes I wasn't exacly sure. I remembered the annual trip to Lauwersmeer to see my favorite waders but that's in the Netherlands so did not qualify for these pages. The spring migration went in a flash, then autumn migration went by without any notice. I became a lazy birder.
I did took out the gear for a bit of warm up in the backyard and a few spots near the house.
